Russula olivaceoviolascens Gillet. Cap 2-4cm across, convex when very young, soon with a central depression; a mixture of greenish violet; smooth, viscid and shining when wet; peels easily. Gills broad; cream. Stem 50-70 x 10-15mm, clavate, very fragile; white. Flesh soft; white. Odor fruity. Taste hot. Spores ellipsoid, 7-8 x 5-6µ; warts up to 0.5µ high, reticulum almost complete. Deposit cream (B-C). Habitat in marshy places. Rare. Found in northwestern North America. Season September. Edibility not known |
